Apple iPhone 11 Officially Launched

TEKNOKU.me – Apple introduced its latest iPhone lineup at a launch event that was held at the Steve Jobs Theater, Cupertino, USA, Tuesday (09/10/2019) morning local time.

The first model that was introduced was the iPhone 11. In addition to the model numbers that changed no longer using Roman numerals (“X”), the second camera on the iPhone 11 was also replaced from the previous telephoto type on the Phone XS and XS Max became ultra-wide.

However, the iPhone 11 is actually more accurately seen as the successor to the iPhone XR because of its position as the cheapest device from the iPhone 2019 line. From this point of view, the iPhone 11 adds the number of cameras to two, from before only one on the iPhone XR.

Ultra-wide cameras have a much wider field of view (120 degrees) than the main wide camera so Apple called the iPhone 11 to have a “zoom-out 2x” camera effect, rather than a “zoom-in 2x” style telephoto camera in models previous.

This ultra-wide camera has a lens with a focal length of 13 mm (equivalent to full-frame) with f / 2.4 opening and a 12-megapixel resolution sensor.

The main wide camera of the iPhone 11 has a 12-megapixel resolution and a lens with a focal length of 26 mm (equivalent to full-frame) with f / 1.8 opening and is also equipped with OIS.

Although wide-angle and wider (ultra wide), the iPhone 11 camera is capable of producing portrait images with a bokeh effect.

The back camera of the iPhone 11 is also equipped with features such as 4K resolution video recording with a frame rate of 60 fps, slow-motion, time-lapse, up to XDR.

Upfront, the iPhone 11 also has a dual camera with 12-megapixel resolution “True Depth” which can be rotated to take landscape-oriented pictures. This camera is loaded in a notch above the 6.1-inch screen.

Apple also added a new video feature in the form of 120 FPS slow-motion image recording which Apple called “slow selfie” or “slofie” on the front camera.

“We focus on technology that is important and useful for consumers,” said Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, as he introduced the iPhone 11 in the launch event which was broadcast live on YouTube.

The innards of the iPhone 11 rely on the new SoC, Apple A13 Bionic, which is claimed to be the fastest smartphone chip in the world.

This phone also has a level of resistance to water and dust with IP68 certificates and claimed battery life is 1 hour longer than the iPhone XR.

iPhone 11 comes in purple, white, green, yellow, black, and red, and is priced at the cheapest price of 699 USD.
