Apple Releases iOS 12.4.2 for Old iPhone and iPad

TEKNOKU.meĀ – Old Apple devices finally visited by operating system updates (OS). Instead of the latest iOS version 13, various “old” iPad, iPod and iPhone devices will get iOS version 12.4.2.

The older devices referred to include iPad Air, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, iPod touch 6th generation, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus.

As is known, iOS version 12.4.2 update was actually released by Apple last August for newer devices, such as the iPhone XS to the iPhone XR.

At that time, Apple released the iOS 12.4.2 update to fix security holes that could result in this iOS-based Apple device being hacked by irresponsible people.

Other updates to iOS 12.42 include the overall system upgrade, as well as the security system improvements mentioned earlier.

For users who want to close this dangerous vulnerability, Apple device users mentioned above are recommended to immediately update their iOS to version 12.4.2.

Now, to update the iOS version, users simply open the “Settings” menu, then select “General” and select the “Software Update” menu. There, select the “Download and install” option.

In addition to releasing iOS updates to older devices, Apple has also released a watchOS update for their early generation of smartwatches (Apple Watch).

The released version is a watchOS 5.3.2 version and can be downloaded on Apple Watch Series 1 and Series 2 devices.

Both of these older smartwatch series is predicted to get watchOS 6 updates in the next few months.
