Apple, Xiaomi, and Samsung Dominate the TWS Market

Interestingly, the ruler of the wireless earphone market share actually comes from smartphone vendors, not manufacturers of audio accessories such as JBL or Beats.

According to a report from Strategy Analytics, Apple controls the wireless earphones market share with a percentage of 71 percent.

Followed by Xiaomi and Samsung respectively in the second and third positions with a total percentage of both market share of less than 10 percent. T

Canalys estimates the volume of wireless earphone shipments to rise 183 percent and translates to 43 million units in the third quarter of 2019.

The three vendors also remain in the wireless earphones market. Apple was ranked first in the Canalys version with a market share of 43 percent, followed by Xiaomi 7 percent, and Samsung 6 percent.

Both Canalys and Strategy Analytics both named 2016 AirPods as the most popular ones.

“Apple’s AirPods are the most dominant Bluetooth headsets in terms of sales volume and revenue in the wireless earphones segment,” explained Ken Hyers, chief analyst at Strategy Analytics.

Furthermore, Hyers predicts that Apple will continue to dominate the wireless earphone market until the middle of the next decade.

Meanwhile, Redmi AirDots, which was released in 2019, is an alternative to cheap wireless earphones.

Redmi AirDots was first introduced in 2019 and was priced at 99.9 yuan (around 14.49 USD). Galaxy Buds became another wireless earphone which later was no less popular.

Samsung also plans to introduce the new Galaxy Buds + on 11 February along with the launch of the Galaxy S20.

According to Jason Low, one of Canalys analysts, smartphone vendors are increasingly aggressive in selling wireless earphone devices, in order to improve the audio experience for their users.

Players and other new products will increasingly enliven the wireless earphone market. One of them is Google’s parent, Alphabet which will release Pixel Buds 2 next spring. In addition, Amazon’s Echo Buds and Microsoft’s Surface Buds will also be released to the market soon.

Revenue from wireless earphone sales in 2019 is expected to increase by more than 200 percent.

It is predicted, its income will reach 100 billion US dollars in 2024.
