Google Prepares Special Certificate for Gaming Mobile Phones

TEKNOKU.meĀ – With more and more smartphone vendors producing mobile-specific gaming phones, Google plans to create a certification program called “Game Device Certification” for these devices.

The goal, Google wants to ensure that all gaming devices can work as expected, which has enough ability to be used to play and in line with the wishes of game developers.

This certification plan is known from the list of requirements that must be fulfilled by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and original design manufacturer (ODM) partners, before installing Google Mobile Suites (GMS) on their devices.

In the document, there is now a new section called “Gaming Device Certification.” The contents explain that there are a number of conditions that must be met if a device wants to obtain a Gaming Device Certification.

These requirements include having a high-performance graphics processor (GPU), supporting the latest APIs, as well as showing predictable behavior, for example in the case of hot throttling.

Google has prepared a special team to handle the affairs of this gaming cellphone certification.

For now, there are still no devices that get Gaming Device Certification because the certification hasn’t been officially announced by Google.

When it’s rolling later, it’s possible that Google will display a list of certified gaming phones and will continue to update it like an Android Enterprise Recommended device.
