iPhone 12 sold without charger and earphones, this is what Apple explains

Teknoku.me – Apple recently launched its iPhone 12 lineup consisting of the iPhone 12 mini, the “regular” iPhone 12, the iPhone 12 Pro, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

By previous rumors, the iPhone 12 line is sold without a charger and earphones in the purchase package.

iPhone 12 buyers will only get one Lightning to USB-C converter cable and one cellphone unit. Thus, users are “forced” to purchase the charger head separately.

This is not without reason. Apple deliberately eliminates these two accessories for reasons to reduce the impact of environmental pollution.

The move, said Apple, could reduce mining activities to be used as raw material for making smartphone accessories.

Because, the more mining machines that work, the greater the consumption of electricity that is released.

“This is our effort to protect the environment. iPhone 12 does not include a power adapter or EarPods. Please use your power adapter and Apple headphones that are currently in use or buy these accessories separately,” said Apple.

According to Apple, this change could reduce more than 2 million metric tons of carbon emissions annually, which is the equivalent of eliminating 450,000 cars on the road in one year.

Vice President of Apple, Lisa Jackson, also said that there are more than 2 billion charger adapters in the world.

According to Lisa, more and more customers have switched to wireless charging methods.

Apart from the iPhone 12, Apple is also implementing this new change for the sales of other iPhone models, such as the iPhone XR, iPhone 11, and iPhone SE (2020).

Also, the iPhone 12 sales box can be designed as slim as possible to make it more environmentally friendly. This is because the charger head usually has thick dimensions and takes up space.
