TEKNOKU.me – Microsoft held an event in the city of New York, USA, Wednesday (10/02/2019) morning local time to introduce a number of 2-in-1 Surface series devices.
There are three mainstream Surface devices launched by Microsoft in this event. They are Surface Pro X tablets, Surface Pro 7, and Surface Laptop 3.
Of the three devices, Surface Pro X is the most unique device because the bezel around the screen looks thinner when compared to the two other latest Surface products.
In addition, the tablet is predicted to be a strong competitor to Apple’s iPad Pro is a device that is equipped with a mobile processor with ARM architecture, the Surface SQ1.
The last ARM-based Surface device was launched in 2013 under the name Surface 2.
Meanwhile, Surface Pro 7 and Surface Laptop 3 are each equipped with a 10th generation Intel Core (x86) mainstream laptop processor, not ARM-based processors such as Surface Pro X.
In terms of weight, these three Surface devices are relatively easy to carry because of their lightweight and thin dimensions. Surface Pro X, for example, only weighs around 720 grams and a thickness level of 5.3 mm.
The three devices are equipped with PixelSense panels with different screen sizes, which are 13 inches for Surface Pro X, and 12.3 inches for Surface Pro 7, meanwhile, Surface Laptop 3 has two screen variants, namely 13 inches and 15 inches.

There are several other excellent features in each of these devices, in addition to the weight and dimensions earlier.
Surface Pro X has another excellent feature in the form of a stylus container which is located right between the lower hinges of the screen and the external keyboard. There is also LTE connectivity support on Surface Pro X.
Then, Surface Pro 7 is equipped with a voice recorder that is claimed to be more qualified than the previous generation to improve the accuracy of the speech-to-text feature.
Then, Surface Laptop 3 has the advantage in terms of the widest screen between the Surface Pro X and Surface Pro 7 series. Specifically for the 15-inch variant of Surface Laptop 3, the processor used is AMD Ryzen which is claimed to be the fastest in its class.
In terms of connectivity, all three Surface devices are equipped with USB-C ports.
Price and availability
For matters of price, Surface Pro X is priced at the lowest price of 999 USD, then Surface Pro 7 is priced at prices starting at 749 USD.
Then, Surface Laptop 3 is pegged at the cheapest price of 999 USD for the 13-inch variant and 1,199 USD for the 15-inch variant.
Surface Pro X will be available starting November 5, while Surface Pro 7 and Surface Laptop 3 will be available on 22 October.
