Xiaomi Make a Folding Screen Phone Like Huawei Mate Xs?

TEKNOKU.me – Chinese mobile phone manufacturer Xiaomi is allegedly going to make a folding screen cellphone after filing a patent document for a new “style” cellphone design, which has a screening mechanism that folds out.

The patent document is known to have been submitted by Xiaomi to the Chinese patent office (CNIPA) in 2019.

The patent shows a cellphone design that adopts flexible screen technology that can be bent outwards, so that the shape of the device changes like a cell phone with two sides of the screen when folded, and a tablet when stretched.

When viewed from the design, the patent seems to be similar to the Huawei Mate Xs phone which was just launched in March 2020.

On the back of the phone, Xiaomi’s patent shows there are four cameras arranged vertically and two holes called LED flash.

While on the front, the patent does not show in detail the existence of the location of the camera. Then at the top right there is an area that displays a red line when the phone is in a folded condition.

Meanwhile, on the right side of the body of the phone, there are two physical buttons to turn on the device (power) and the volume adjustment button.

At the bottom of the body of the phone, embedded several functions of the speaker device, SIM card slot, microphone, and USB Type-C port for charging.

Interestingly again, at the bottom of the phone reportedly Xiaomi will provide a slot to accommodate the stylus pen.

However, this is only limited to filing patents only, and it is uncertain whether the design will actually be realized by Xiaomi.

However, it does not rule out the possibility that Xiaomi is really serious about working on a cellphone with a folding screen design mechanism, in accordance with the patent that has been proposed.
