Instagram Will Get Video Features Like TikTok?

TEKNOKU.meĀ – Instagram again plagiarized the features of its competitors. If during this time Snapchat was often the victim of a cheat sheet, this time it was TikTok’s turn whose feature was called “Instagram-inspired” Instagram.

This feature is in the new Story Camera mode called “Clip”. Programmer Jane Manchun Wong is the figure who first discovered this feature since July.

He indeed often finds new features that are still in the trial period on social media such as Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, or Twitter, by tracing the line of application code in question.

According to Jane Wong, the Clip feature allows users to combine several pieces of video into a video. This feature is similar to the video editing feature in TikTok which is one of the attractions of the platform that is popular among the teens.

Like in TikTok, with Clip users can also adjust the speed of the video and add music on Instagram. Wong said, there are some features in TikTok that are not yet in Clip such as effects and filters.

However, with Augmented Reality (AR) technology that is owned by Facebook, it is not impossible Instagram will add it later.

“This kind of experimental feature can come and go. It takes time to develop and release it,” Wong wrote on his blog.

TikTok has now been downloaded more than 1 billion times. Some TikTok videos also take part in other viral social media like Instagram and Twitter.

Instagram might not want to lose its dominance to become the most popular photo and video sharing platform in the world so it starts to mix many new features. However, Instagram often cheats features of its competitors.

Stories, for example, before it became popular as it is today, the feature was already present in Snapchat. Instagram is reluctant to give feedback regarding the discovery of features like TikTok.
