Gmail on Android Starts Getting Dark Mode

TEKNOKU.me – Google has added dark mode to a number of applications. This week it’s Gmail’s turn on Android that gets the all-dark look feature.

Dark mode Gmail has begun to be distributed, but there are conditions that must be met to be able to use it, namely the device must run the latest Android 10 OS. Meanwhile, the distribution of newer versions of Android updates is now still limited.

Several users on the Reddit online forum reported that Gmail’s dark mode was active on Android version 2019.08.18.267044774.

Seen from several outstanding screen conversations, the dark gray color becomes the main background with white and light blue writing.

There are three Gmail theme options that can be selected manually namely “light” like the current theme, “dark” and “system default” which will follow the dark mode of the Android system.

Dark mode has not been rolled out in Gmail as a whole. Users must wait for the Android 10 update their device receives. So far, only phones made by Google have gotten Android 10.

Some of them are Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL, and Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.
