WhatsApp to Test the Transfer of Chats from Android to iOS

Teknoku.me – WhatsApp is reportedly preparing a feature called Chat Migration. As the name implies, this feature allows users to move conversation history from Android to iOS (iPhone / iPad).

This news has been picked up from the WABetaInfo site, which often provides accurate leakage of WhatsApp features, before officially launching.

Based on the WABetaInfo search, there is a series of WhatsApp beta version 2.21.9.7 (Android) API codes which indicate that WhatsApp is developing a chat history migration feature from Android to iPhone, or vice versa.

For information, so far WhatsApp users usually transfer their conversation history by using the Google Drive service.

By doing a backup, the conversation history can be stored safely and will not be deleted, even if the WhatsApp account is moved to another cellphone.

In the future, through a feature called Chat Migration, users can move the contents of their conversations directly, without the need to rely on third-party applications such as WhatsApp Plus or WhatsApp GB.

This is because applications made by third parties that claim to be able to move WhatsApp chats between devices are considered to be in violation of the WhatsApp Terms of Service.

“WhatsApp does not support these third-party applications because we cannot validate their security practices,” WhatsApp wrote on its official blog.

The Chat Migration feature hasn’t landed on any platforms until this news is broadcast. WhatsApp has not yet revealed when this feature will be launched for all users other than the beta version.

However, it is possible that this feature will be present for all WhatsApp users in the near future.

WhatsApp is also rumored to allow one account to be connected to several devices at once, without requiring an internet connection.

The number of devices that will be connected at once is said to reach four devices, either from smartphones, tablets, or PCs (desktop/laptop).
