Sony Xperia 5, a tall body-phone with three rear cameras

TEKNOKU.me – After being preceded by rumors, Sony finally launched its newest device at the 2019 IFA event in Berlin, Germany. Instead of the Xperia 2 which is a potential successor to the name of the Xperia 1, the name of this latest Sony phone is Xperia 5.

As the news has circulated, this Xperia 5 phone carries a “tall” design with a 21: 9 screen ratio, similar to Xperia 1.

With a tall, slim design like this, Sony claims the Xperia 5 can still be held in full with one hand.

The slim screen uses an OLED type panel and has a diagonal of 6.1 inches with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,080 pixels. This screen can also display HDR content, and can change SDR content to HDR.

Xperia 5 relies on an 8-megapixel selfie camera and three rear cameras for capturing moments. All three cameras located on the back of this phone are the same resolution, which is 12 megapixels.

Even so, all three offer different features. The first camera is equipped with a wide lens with a lens opening f / 1.6.

Then, the second camera is a telephoto lens with an f / 2.4 lens opening that features 2x optical zoom. While the third camera is an ultrawide camera with an f / 2.4 lens opening.

Other features include a Snapdragon 855 chip along with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage media. The capacity of this storage media can be expanded with micro SD up to 1 TB.

Sony Xperia 5 is supported by a battery of 3,140 mAh with 18W fast charging technology and runs the Android 9.0 Pie operating system.

Because both are made by Sony, Xperia 5 also supports PlayStation 4 (PS4) joystick which is equipped with Dualshock 4 technology.

Unfortunately, it is not yet known how much the price of this phone. However, the Xperia 5 is planned to be ordered in Europe starting next week.

Meanwhile, offline sales are expected to begin in October. Not yet known whether the Sony Xperia 5 will also be launched outside the European region or not.
